Explore how cutting-edge Meteosat Third Generation data help monitor storms, protect communities and support vital sectors
The Meteosat Third Generation (MTG) satellites provide observations over the entire African continent on a continuous and frequent basis and will continue to do so for the next two decades. Products from the first MTG satellite, Meteosat Third Generation Imager 1, launched in 2022, started being disseminated to Africa via EUMETCast Africa in July 2025.
